What does D say?

Returning from the Trek

S went on a Pioneer Trek from June 11-14. This is when they participated in a handcart journey and reflected on the pioneers and the sacrifices they went through coming to the Salt Lake Valley. She said it was hard but she enjoyed the time and had lots of fun. This picture is at the end of the trek and she was anxious to get a shower and was hoping Dad would hurry up and stop taking pictures.

Swimming

The last four weeks D & Mom took a parent-tot swim class. D wasn't very fond of it at first but after a few days he loved it. This video is taken on the last day of his class, when Dad came and watched. (Sorry the video footage isn't the best.)

What a BIG boy!

D is 19 months old in this picture. He is growing up so fast and is the cutest little man. When we went to his 18 month checkup he had grown 3 inches in 3 months. He is going to be a tall boy. He is a very busy and active boy.

The last two weeks haven't been fun for him. Two Saturday's ago we took him to Urgent Care, he had pink eye. Last Saturday we took him in because of a fever and he had an ear infection. That was his first ear infection and the first time he had a high fever. He has been a very healthy boy until then. We have a lot of fun with him and watching him discover new things.

School is OUT!!!

School has been out for a little over a week.
S had a great 7th grade year and has been very busy. She played softball, volleyball, & soccer. She was in the district honor band (1st chair flute). She won the Science Fair at her school. At the end of the school year she decided to run for Student Body President. She had a great campaign and lots of support but unfortunately she didn't win. We are very proud of her decision and courage to run. She is growing up way to fast. We love her and the young lady she is becoming.

S with two of her best friends after their final concert for the school year. What a wonderful group of girls.
S with a piece of her artwork that was put on display for the district artshow.

This summer she has already gone to Beehive camp and has many more activities planned. Before we know it the summer will be over and she will be starting her 8th grade year.

We are still here!!

Sorry it has been awhile since we have posted. I can't come up with any creative funny excuses so I won't. I will just try to post a few blogs in the next few days to update you on our crazy lives.
OUR GARDEN

There is a reason for the big spot of dirt in the corner, which will be explained in another blog.

One benefit of living in Arizona is we are able to start planting a garden in Jan/Feb. We also have two planting seasons.

We planted our garden at the end of February. We have enjoyed peas, beans, zucchini, tomatoes, and squash. We enjoy it a but like always we plant way to many zucchine & squash plants and we try to find creative ways to cook them. G loves putting them in eggs, etc. Most of his concoctions (sp?) are pretty good but when he tried to put them in German Pancakes we strongly protested. My funny husband, I love him soo much and his funny ideas.
